I gota ask it me vs a 450r hmm( dont grill me to bad)

So just like a newb(lol) My buddy has a pipped and jetted 07 450r.. What kinda chance do I stand against this thing in a head up drager?? I know it is a newb ?? But I am kinda curious, cuz my bike feels a bit stronger then his does... Mods are in sig..Whats up??

It should be a close race.

It should be neck and neck at the start, might even pull him. Then hold even up into fourth but he will pull ahead in fifth. At least thats how it is for me up against a KFX450 with pipe K&N and power commander.

I would think it would be neck and neck like the others said. Ive only rode one 440 and really for what you have to put into them money wise i wasnt really that impressed. It was only one but it was put together right and he left nothing undone. It would be a good race but if he ever opens his motor up i wouldnt race him again. I love my 400 and have had for almost 11 years now but before i would drop half a bank account to get it to keep up with a 450 i would just go buy a 450 and save prolly about $1500.

with your mods i think it should be a very close race. it should come down to who gets the best hole shot and the gearing depending on how long the race is if yall are equal riders.

Its all about the holeshot 90% of the time (unless one bike has 10 or more horsepower). You guys should have close to the same power but you should have 3-4 more torque. If this was vs a 04-05 450r no doubt you would have him 06+ have a but more power.
Get him off the line and you should be ahead the rest of the time.

You guys should both be around 40hp.

Welp thats the ting, I think he can slip the clutch a lil less, still not stand up, in turning pulling me out of the hole. I am sure the 400 platform engine makes more grunt down low, which might hurt in a dig race.. I know for a fact the 400 stock is a wheelie machine. Now with the added power, it is stupid.. I am going to try and get it on tape, but if not, it is what it is.. I am also going to try and go from, a dig, from a slight roll, where this thing won't be as likely to want and stand up... Well see :P

Yea watch out for the wheelie. Ive made an *** of myself a few times drag racing and letting the clutch go to soon lol.

I realized how much they really wheelie the other day. I was drag racing in loose dirt and even then it's tough to find the right amount of wheel speed without wheelying. I often found myself on the rear wheels in first through second.

Yep for sure, I was just out messing around. I think the 450r has the hole shot, not cuz of the power, but where it makes it at( up R's), can get the power down with out pulling up vs the old school 400, which is pretty tqy from NOW. Then my other buddy came down on his 04 yzf450 with a sparks pipe, but was after I put mine away, hell ima try him out to I guess.. LOL

when i raced my cuz with a 09 ltr450 he got me in the holeshot but i got him in the long run. we were both on the back wheels 1st through 4th. a 440 should be a good match for a 450
