It store energy. If you don't have a fan or light, it may have been taken off.

I don't think the fan will work without, but I could be wrong.

the condensor also helps it start ups, it stores energy, which will help make a stronger spark when kicking it over, im not sure if the fan runs without it or not

im putting one in on the woring schematic it shows that i can run the red wire to the key red wire and ground the green, any help would be great . this is for a 06 kicker conversion.

the condenser (capacitor) stores electrical energy, primarily for providing a short duration of electrical power to the CDI for operation, before the stator power takes over and the engine is running.

Not necessarily needed, but does insure the chances for kick charging the CDI all that easier....
