re-packing my sparks

have a full sparks on my trx and was wondering if anyone had ever repacked theirs and how much of a difference it made. does it really make them that much quieter?

it helps if your old packing is shot and or blown out. how long has it been on the bike. i repack mine every 20 hrs or so

well one full season so probably about 30 or 40 hours im guessing

you should repack it then. if you dont keep up with repacking them, the core inside will end up breaking/melting and then you need a whole new core or slipon in most cases

When I repacked my Sparks, it didn't make it any quieter. I had to get another core, so I ordered a core and packing straight from sparks. Since then I have also started washing my bike with a pipe plug to keep the core from getting wet.

If u don't repack it the core will fall apart. Also I've seen the actual can start to crack and fall apart from it not being repacked. I just had to replace my core on my sparks.. Cost me 100 bucks just for the core..
