Throttle sticking

My throttle has been sticking really bad lately...ive deal with it for awhile but its getting annoying. I think its due to gummed up gas in the carb making the slide stick, but thats just my opinion. Has this happened to anyone else? Whats the best way to fix this? Any help is appreciated thanks

Ive had to pull the actuall thumb lever part out of the throttle housing and clean it.
Just take the housing top off and there is a nut that holds the thumb lever rod.....take the nut off and slide the lever / rod out and clean it up. Just look and see how the return spring is set so you know how to put it back.

I have this same problem but I'm pretty sure its not the throttle cable. Could it possibly be due to some sort of vacuum problem not allowing the vacuum operated slide to return to the closed position? I have never had a bike with a vacuum operated slide before and it seems as though it may be the problem.
