So after staring at k10seibel's amazing collection for a few days a tiny little light bulb appeared over my tattooed head.

I guess i have 4 questions....

1) what do you think of the Hondaline front nose piece/hood??

2)What would you think a replica of this would look like made from carbon, especially for Fullbore's??

3)Would you buy one??

4)If there was enough interest do you think we could talk Jay @ Fourwerx into doing a run??

I had both the Honda HRC bumper and hood on my 88 (that was stolen in 1990) and i loved them both.

My personal opinion is i think this could kind of give the old R a makeover of sorts and would let the aftermarket know that there are still followers of this great quad.

What you guys think??

xsr_racing28c.....what do you think??

I personally am not really a fan of that headlight cover. I just really like the look of the factory headlight on the 88/89. Just my .02

I will take one only for the oem fenders and hood and also find someone with the equipment to do the hrc front add on bumper.

IMO, I wouldnt buy 1. I really dont think the hood light is that effective. I prefer the handlebar light setup off an 87' or 86'

i like it, but how would it get mounted on aftermarket plastic without the headlight?

I'm on the fence. I think it would give it a fresh look and I'd like to see it with an aftermarket oversize tank... might tie the 2 together more... I might go for one for my OEM hood...

...funny going retro to give a "fresh" look... kinda seems contradictory... LOL..

You are totally right. Going "backwards" seems absurd for something "new" HA!!!!
Next time i see one of Portland's "hipsters" driving a new Dodge Charger ill let him know that his Buddy Holly glasses went out of style years ago.
LOL!!!!

I have an extra 88 hood that I would donate to the cause for Fourwerx to use as a reference to build a carbon replica nose cover. Nothing ever goes out of style just comes back around accept for the mullet hair cut that one should die and stay dead! sorry Billy Ray Cyrus

I'm not really digging it but agree, it might look better with an oversize tank.

I am not a fan of it either, especially a reproduction, although I think it would be really cool to own an original 88 or 89 with all of these Hondaline products.

What about making a carbon fiber hood just like the 88/89 style so that you could run a headlight and have a sweet aftermarket look? Maybe they already make these, I don't know...but I would never want one of those cheap Maier carbon fiber-look ones.

I agree the white one the way it is sticks out like a boner in sweat pants, but picture it real carbon fiber, with oversize tank and number plate and/or graphics that tie it all together. I think it could work, not only work but look good. Throw back XC machine, with new school updates... think 2010 Camaro...

would look good on your 89 with that hump seat cover and over size tank .
