nope....not worth the hassle....better off investing in a good rear shock or get yours rebuilt.

The 450r front shocks fit on a z400 without any modification. They are a bit shorter though so they will lower the bike some too.

the 450 fronts aren't really that big of an improvement over your stock z fronts. Just a heads up! Their better, but don't expect the same results as a true aftermarket set of fronts.

if you have a older z400 with a non piggyback shocks, the 450r shocks are a big improvement.

Here is a pic of them installed on my bike.

I recently bought a pair of new works shocks for a honda 250r for 450.00 plus shipping which was 20.00 bucks. They said it would fit a 400ex and they were 16 1/2 inches from eye to eye so I figured they would fit my Z and they did perfectly!! i thought it was a great deal they work great and was extremely glad I bought them. There are some used works shocks on ebay too just make sure there the right length.

i got the shock to fit haha, a lot of work though. but the shock was about .5 inch shorter eye to eye than the stock shock. is this gonna affect the way the shock works? thanks
