So, I have a killer 400EX and am considering doing a 250R motoro in it. I saw some of the guys here have done this swap and I wanted to gather some info. I wouldlike as much info on the Engine swap as possible but i also have another question.....can 400EX a-arms and aftermarket shocks go on a 250R frame???? I only ask because there are some sweet deals on 250R quads where I live and the reason I want the motor is to keep all the aftermarket stuff I have on the ex frame already......so what do you guys think....move the motor or move the Suspension.....what's the verdict???

400ex a-arms and shocks will work on a 250R. The a-arms will just need some spacers.

The rear however, will not be a direct bolt up.

The axles are interchangeable as long as you use the hubs.

It would save a lot of headaches to just buy a 250R.

one of the main benefits of the engine swap is the stock 250r frame is weak. even with gusseting. also, 400ex parts are cheap and very easy to come buy. i did it cause i had a bunch of extra stuff from when i had my 99 400ex.

after the build i did find out the 400ex/250r hybrid is lighter than my 250r also.

which ever way you go you will be happy.
