Well the 400ex is gone. I got a call from a fellow member with a 2004 banshee and I just couldnt resist. The 400ex was a great bike and I believe he will have fun with it. The banshee flat out rolls out and is in good shape, just a totally different kind of power. When he chimes in on here ill let yall know who it is so yall can help him like yall did me. Ill still come check the site each day and honestly someday i might get another 400ex.

Well, let's see the beast! My aunt has a bone stock Banshee that's she's had for years and it just sits in her garage. Trying to get her to give it to me. I'd love to get it and turn it into a mean *** duner.

:D

Now your on the dark side with us other banshee owners:blah:

You should really consider making it an all-around bike. +2 arms, quality shocks, axle, rear shock re-vavle, and some pipes like PT Mid's. It would have a powerband down low into the mid like a 250r, and handle pretty nice. Dunes AND play/trails.:)

thats exactly what im doing with it. Going with the arms, shocks, g force axle (not really going to be jumping so not worried about bending it), maybe some more work done to the motor, and a few other things like new plastics, tires, alot more chrome :D (has quite a few cascade pieces on it now) and also putting the stock swinger back on it. I like the +4 on it but id rather be able to do some power sliding and such :)

also I just got done repainting the plastics on it to hold me over till I get my other ones. They were chipping. Before anyone says anything, yes I already ordered another seat cover lol. Here is the only pic I have of it:

im going to do something that is normally not done. A lot of custom engine parts. I just want to see how big I can go with a stroker without going with something off the shelf

well u could at least go to a 500 haha and that seems pretty big for the 400ex

But i dont really blame ya i always want something bigger and faster

I just bit the bullet and sold one of my 400exs and now im going to look at a cr250

mineralgrey01gt
04-13-2010, 06:59 PM
well I posted up for a banshee trade and didnt think id get one but I did and I think it turned out well for both parties. I believe he got an extremely reliable machine and I got something totally different than im used to, even after owning my 250r.

cr250's are fun. I rode one a long time ago and man it had some wicked power to it

Did you race him before you traded?

mineralgrey01gt
04-13-2010, 10:50 PM
nah, it was getting late and I had to drive 2 hours back home so I just took a spin on the banshee around the yard and that was that. He did have a 450r over there that he couldnt get running right. I told him it was the dynacrap ignition box going out since he said it would only crank and run when pulled off which to me means that the dynacrap was going out and not giving it enough spark on kicking it over.

Ill be back on another Steve lol, thats no doubt but im going with a newer model, 05+ for the reverse factor also

honda400ex2003
04-13-2010, 10:52 PM
nice lol. a 500 with reverse would be cool. steve

mineralgrey01gt
04-13-2010, 10:54 PM
i want to see how it goes with a 500+ with a stroker crank. I think it would be pretty healthy. I think it will be mainly for the drag strip though lol. Not reliable enough to ride around the house all the time.

With the price of 400ex that are for sale no days its either I sell mine and take what I can get or I hold on and run it into the ground. I definately need the money but once its completely gone I hate to miss it ya know. WHich reminds me I better start it tomorrow cause its been sitting since I bought the R last year. I'm sure the battery is dead and it could probably use fresh gas

are u happy with the trade????

mineralgrey01gt

depends on which way you look at it. Banshee's just flat out have way more power than any other quad really, especially one with port work like mine has. Now dont get me wrong, my old 400ex would pull hard, shocked the hell out of me when I first rode it but a banshee is just a totally different animal.

Handling on both are totally different also. I seriously doubt a banshee will handle as well as my 400ex, besides the 250r geometry banshee frames. Its extremely narrow in the front compared to a stock 400ex. Probably an inch or so on each side more narrow. Im putting arms and shocks on the banshee also to help it out and an axle so maybe itll be a little better.

If you like to trail ride and such id never swap for a banshee. I mainly ride open country at a fast pace so the banshee is more of my style. I miss my 400ex like hell because of all the money I put into it in such a short time but the banshee will be fun also.

i had a banshee before i got a 400ex and i think the 400ex is a better machine. the shee power comes on too late for trail riding unless you put alot of money in it to improve the bottom end.

you said you had a 250r. this makes me curious that you didnt just get another 250r. its kind of the best of both worlds.

anyways, the banshee is very fun to ride. the power comes out of nowhere and is quite a thrill.:D

Oh I plan on building another 250r along with the 400ex. I always wanted a full roll design 250r

There is a completely tricked out 250r at my local shop. I want it so bad, that's always been my dream bike. It sits next to this monster.

Ew that orange banshee is a waste.. lol. Craptor plastics, streetbike motor? He would have been better off leaving stock style plastics and building a 535 cheetah.

It's actually red and in a raptor frame, my phone doesn't take good pictures indoors. It's a 1300cc 'Busa motor with nitrous. It's just on display for the store, one of those why not things. The owner said it's not even ridable, too much power. My dad actually went to high school with this guy. He's been on TV a bunch of times for doing stupid stuff on quads.

Here's some videos of it:

I guess it's own of those things, that you just HAVE to own even if you don't ride it. lol. I would put it in my garage.

But that's definitely a banshee chassis, not a raptor. Those are banshee raptor-style plastics, banshee seat, banshee frame, and typical YFZ450 front end conversion.;)
