Can some one tell me how to tell a dc-2 swing arm from a dc-4. Is the dc-4 swingarm have the shock mount on top and the dc-2 mount is on the bottom?

you pretty much have it right They use a different shock angle though and a different upper mount, and they are not the same length shock. basically the dc2 was on the 2 stroke and the dc4 on the fourstroke.

was wondering that cause all the hybrid swimgarms look the same as do the 250r's did any hybrids have a dc-2 ?

probably not unless they were a conversion. The dc4 works really well though I think its very similiar to roll design mx rear no link

wow what timing for this thread...i just picked up a new jp outlaw lt250r...lots of differences in the frames between the 2 i have. the front down tubes are different, the backbone on one is a single tube and the other is 2 smaller tubes welded together.....
lastly the swingarms are different. the first one has the shock mounted lower on the swingarm and the angle is like 30 degrees from straight up and down.....the second one mounts on top of the swingarm and has like a 60-70degree angle....is this what everyone is talking about? one better than the other?

dc-2 is a no-link swingarm and dc-4 is long "body" a-arms.

I'm not sure if one is any better than the other. I don't know much about them. I was just wondering why you don't see any dc-2 on hybrid bikes must be a reason. Im gona take some exteneded and compressed mesurements of my dc-4 and compair it to my Buddha dc2 set up and see how much difference there is

One reason I think for the dc4 swingarm is that by changing that shock angle it creates more room for the intake. Just a stab but it makes sense.

I was thinking along that line to except I was think it was to clear that bigger 4 stroke exhaust but the intake makes sence to
