I tried a 15T up front and it just would not fit. I wanna see a close up pic of a 15T sprocket installed on a 300ex. I do not see how it works.

i do not have any pics but i can vouch that it does indeed work. I had a 15 installed several times on my 250 years ago.

You cannot use a case saver when you use the 15. I also did not use the plastic shield over the sprocket I cannot remember if that made a difference or not anymore.

Try taking the master link out of the chain then putting the 15 tooth sprocket on. Feed the chain through and reinstall the master link you may need to possibly add a link also with a 15 tooth sprocket.

when you say it wont fit, how so? describe what its hitting or getting caught up on and i will try to get a better understanding.

I know for sure it works, as i did have it on my 250 at one time. I remember I geared it 15-34 with 20" tires to do some speed runs.

my normal gearing was 14-34 with 18" hole shots.

the sprocket is to close to the case, the chain won't fit.

I remember when i ordered my 15 tooth front sprocket it was from nac's racing. It fit on there perfectly, although you could not just put the chain on normally as you could with the 13 tooth you had to take the master link out of the chain and then feed the chain around the sprocket manually.

It was a close fit but on mine it fit without problems.

The only thing i could possibly say is the cases on the 300 may be causing some problems. I was always under the assumption that the cases were not any different in terms of thickness and measurement compared to the 250.

:huh huh u have to feed the chain manually everytime and u have to take the master link off too if your gonna put a chain on. I just put a 15 on i got and the chain hits the case bad it wont' even feed through. Its a non-o-ring 520 too.

You can always go down in teeth on the rear sprocket to get the same result.

For me i never took my master link off changing from the 13-14 tooth front sprockets. I had enough wiggle room to be able to fit the chain around the sprocket and then place the sprocket on the shaft.

Only for the 15 tooth front sprocket did i need to completely take the chain off and feed the chain around the front sprocket when i had the sprocket already on the shaft. This was because i simply just didn't have enough wiggle room and clearance to fit.

I wish i could be more of help but, I do know the 15 tooth will work for a 250x.
