Well about a month ago the crank seized up in my 05 trx 450r. i took it to a local shop and they put a moose racing pistion 13:1 and a hot rod crank and connecting rod in it. I rode it for about 30 mins then it sat for a few weeks. i rode it for another 30 mins yesterday and it quit while i was riding it. i went to start it and it kicked over like it was seized and all i could hear was aluminum clangin. any ideas why this would do it again?

Because you put a Hotrods crank in it...prob with their bearings too?

not sure...i assume its the updated one. but he put a moose racing 13:1 high comp piston and it had a timing advancement key on it. will that run on pump gas with no problem?

Some say yes pump is ok with 13:1 but I personally wouldn't reccommend it. I run 100 on my 13:1. Also I didn't know Moose made pistons?? But anyway, this is def a crank issue if you ask me..

If I understand what your saying, no I dont think either hot rods or your mechanic will get you a new crank. Just hope your cases are still good. I blew 2 H.R. cranks in 6 months and trashed 1 set of cases. Words of advice for everyone, STAY AWAY FROM HOTRODS even their updated shi* You obvisouly are gona need another rebuild, use oem

my updated hot rods crank is fine.. i just used oem bearrings.. and when did moose start making pistons?? and are you sure you didnt explode the clutch gear? ide start tearring apart or your never gonna know... sounds to me like the mechanic didnt put something together right..or not tight enough..

^^ Agreed^^ You won't know for sure until you dig into it. Just for the record, a lot of guys are running the HR crank with success. Including myself. :D
