one side smokes more then the other? any ideas

one cylinder may be worn more or jetting is not in sync.

put in new plugs and make sure they are gapped the correctly. if this doesnt solve it. check the compression of each cylinder.

is it smoking out of left or right side, if it is the right, that is the cluctch side and you may have a seal leaking oil causing smoke, if it is bad enough you can hold you hand or rag behind the exhaust rev it up and see if you catch oil... but you still should check the compression, but if you have not modified the bike jetting may have nothing to do with it..

it is the left, and there is more carbon on the left pipe around the hole... and im planning on doing a compression test this week, thanks for the help!!

if a compression test doesnt expose any issues, then a leak down rest is in order. you may be sucking air somewhere and leaning out that cylinder and making it smoke more. but when you do the test be thorough.
