what kind of oil should i use in my 1996 honda 300ex? is 10w30 ok to use?

no 10-40 is what is recommended. Don't use car oils. Goto a autozone,o'reillys type store and find the valvoline four-stroke oil or the castrol motorcycle oil. I use 20-50 in the summer and 10-40 in the hot months. U can run 10-40 all around though just personal prefrence. Just make sure its motorcycle oil. There is a mobil car oil people use, and alot of people run the rotella T diesel oil which I have and liked it. I mostly ran it to clean everything up inside.

run 20w-50 amsoil full synthetic.
