250r 250f combo is great I also built one for my 12 yearold with a laeger chassis he loves this quad and is scary fast on it.

y es, it is a great combo. yours looks great! i'm really surprised when i see people spend alot of time and money putting a 250f in a blaster or 300ex chasis when the geo and weight and handling of the R is so much better especially when 250r's are for sale everywhere for so cheap! we are getting ready to build another one for a back up. my brother in law and i had only 10 hours on the build from start to finish. probrably could have done it in 8 if we wern't drinking beer.

very nice atv just seen it in the dirt wheels mag! how hard was it to do? i might do this. did you have to make alot of modifications? any input would be great thanks

it was very easy. ive seen some guys going through the swing arm with the with the rear motor mount bolt very unneccesary in my opinion. i just backed the motor all the way back to the swing arm with out letting it touch. used a yfz oil tank and just made some simple motor mounts. getting the chain and sprockets to line up is easy just make sure the counter shaft sprocket on the motor isn't to high or you will have chain slack issues. ther is plenty of room to set the motor lower where needed with even running a belly skid pate as we did. i didn't have to modify the kick start or the gear shift at all!! which i thought was going to be a problem. it really is a very simple build. have a buddy who did this in a yfz frame and it was a alot more work. if you have your materials on hand you can easily do this build in a day.

man, glad to see it worked for you, hate to see another 250r frame gone, but at least you did something with it and it worked. hate to see people cut up a 250r frame and then dont do anything with it. congrats on the build and hope your son has a blast on it.

it's fast but not quite as fast as a 450. doesn't have the same torque. we race it against blasters and 300ex's in a youth class. only thing that compares in that class is another one.

they split are's up into water cooled and air cooled at the gate after third gear the hybrids pull away by alot "built raptors" dont get us wrong we love raptors and the big classes there bringing but youll never beat a bike motored hybrids.

do you think it would be just as easy with a crf 250 motor?because i have one and was wondering what the easyest quad and lightest was
