I just put one on my daughters 250ex this weekend.

Direct bolt in fit. dual rate, much softer, some adjustability.

I'll let you know how it does on the trails next weekend, but its gotta be better than factory.

My daughter wieghs about 80-90 lbs the factory spring never moved.

I weigh about 100 and it makes a heck of a difference through the trails.

OK, I am new to the 250EX scene so help me out here. A stock front Banshee shock is an upgrade over the stock rear shock? What are the benefits? Any negatives? I bought a 2007 250EX for my wife last weekend and am always interested in cheap upgrades.

The factory rear shock on the 250ex is a very stiff, non adjustable, single rate shock. (the most basic shock made)

With a light wieght rider (like most 250 riders are) the rear shock hardly ever moves, making for a very bumpy ride.

The banshee front shocks are a softer shock, and many are dual rate, aka progressive shock (indicated by some coils closer, some farther apart, not visable in my pics but the coils at the top are much closer together) and they are adjustable.
they are about a 1/4 - 1/2 inch shorter and bolts right on. Just a much better shock all around.

MUCH better ride.

Mine was in like brand new condition, seller claimed less than 20 hours ride time, I bought it off ebay for $20 + $7 shipping

Try to buy an aftermarket shock for that :eek2:

Great info, thanks. My wife weighs about 150lbs (dont tell her I told you LOL), would this still be a good shock for her or would it be too soft. Everyone keeps saying it is a good shock for light weight riders, but what about one that weighs 150lbs? Thanks
