Hello... I was wondering if anyone can post a pic of the rear end on thier 400ex... i was looking at mine the other day... wondering What actually holds my axle in.... i see the giant nut on the brake side... and the lock nut next to it... but thye are like 1+ inches from the brake disc... wondering if i'm missing something....

Tis what happens when that lock nut comes loose and the axle slides. Bought a new axle lock nut and I have not had any problems since.

This is how it should look this was before it slid out with the stock parts still on it.

That is how it is supposed to look. I am new at ATV's but I have learned alot from this site. That was the very first problem I had with mine and I researched it alot to figure out why it happened and how to fix it.
It looks like everything is fine. The threaded part is just the adjustment that holds the rotor side against the circlip. Keeping the axle centered and in place.

Well.. makes me feel better... i was looking at the exposed threads and the nuts being out in the middle of nowhere...

You need to get the samething I just ordered. A block off plate to take all of the emergency brake stuff off.

As long as the park adjustment screw is adjusted out and the cable is off then you don’t need a block off plate. Yeah they look good but it adds no value nor dose it make you go faster.

I've already backed the screw out a few turns..... didn't think i really needed it.... don't have the desire to have a shiny part when all the other parts are dirty...

man wished I knew that I did not have to get a plate. That shows how much I need to learn. Anyway I have one coming.

They do look nice... makes it clean... just not required... i ditched the cable as i don't need a parking brake.... and am too lazy to get rid of the brake part...
