i am trying to replace the lower control arm bearings, and am having trouble figuring out how to remove the old ones. i removed the bushings on either side and the dust seal, but noticed a small snap ring on either side of the bearing inside the a arm and can't get it out, doesn't seem like its frozen in there i just don't know how to grab it to remove it. any help would be great... thanks

You will need a snap-ring tool to get it out. You can find them at any auto parts store.

ok thanks i will have to stop at an auto partss store for the snap ring pliers, i have usually just gotten snap rings off before with a pair of needle nose pliers but there are no "hooks" on these rings, the clymer book calls them retaining rings.
forgot to mention its an 03 400ex
