Anyone know where to find a ZTR CVT cover, and do they make a starter plug? The dealers I find online do not list these..

Not sure about the tranny cover or what you mean. But as for the starter plug and oil injection block off plug. Ebay - search DRR.

If your talking about the outerwears cover that slips over the belt cover, I've got one I'll sell ya OR call Marc from Hotquads. If its the tranny gear cover with the bearing inside call Shawn from DS Modz.

If you are refering to the ZTR cvt cover that covers the opening at the reaR clutch , we have those , also the starter block-off plates in stock . Gary and Rich may also stock both of these items .

I use these for the starter plug...nice, snug fit.

Marc didn't tell you about the other starter hole option he used, heater hose and a transmission funnel in the headlight hole:D
basic but it does move some air through the clutch cover. I think he might have one packaged up in the "Mach One" product line:D

Excellent, exactly what I am looking for, just could not find it on the website.... and for some reason nobody is open at 2am:D

Also, just took out the starter and reduction gear in the CVT last night. What needs to be done with the flywheel? Looks like the starter and reduction gear would keep the flywheel from spinning at crank RPM, not sure if it would handle that (or how balanced that thing could possibly be). Did you take the starter flywheel out (behind the CVT). If so, is there a spacer or something I need to order?

Thanks, Jim

you will need to find some shim washers of assorted thicknesses around the same as the starter drive plate you took off, mic your plate (I think it is .031) and look around for a washer the same or use a long wide file and slide the washer back and forth and custom make one. Takes a few mins but then your done.
mock up assembly and make sure your variator nut tightens up and that the tension washer doesnt bottom out and bind on the crank splines.

If you have a extra kick start part that bolts on to the crank on the outside of your variator? Turn it around so the kick start piece goes torwards your engine and thats all you need. Thats what I use. Like this pic .

Sweet! Thanks everyone. Love to tinker with stuff, and never would have thought of the kickstart washer! Thanks tgcheeseman and everyone!

P.S. I chuckled when I popped the airbox filter in the starter hole...just did it again:D

you can also take the part that ur trying to match the thichness to and just cut the center out and make it into the perfect size shim . most guys do it with a plsma cutter wich i dont have so i used a grinder and took my time and then rounded it
