yfz450 parts on 400ex?

Well as the title says wondering what parts will fit. I know its just wrong to put Yamaha on Honda but Hey low on cash you do what works. Any ways i was looking at the a-arms and shock combo. Will the a-arms fit or is that just a big no? Are they any wider then the 400ex a-arms? Thanks for any input guys! Oh btw, know of any other a-arms that will bolt up. Wanna widen the front end a bit.

Im pretty sure that the a-arms and shocks are NOT going to swap over. the honda uses a narrow upper shock mount, and the yamaha has a wide upper shock mount. and im pretty sure the a-arms are not going to fit.

the shocks have to be ground down a bit like the kfx ones do. the arms are very doubtful and were not listed anyway. stuff like the bars and things would work with the correct clamps if they are 7/8 or 1 1/8 bar requires the correct clamp. other than that the front bumper will not work since the mounts are too close together. the nerfs could be a possibility with some modding to get them to work. it is just easier to get the correct 400 stuff and sell the yfz parts instead of making them fit on a machine they were not designed for. the shocks are a great improvement though from what i have read when compared to the stock 400 ones. they can be made to fit easy and make it a bit lower for racing. nothing is a direct swap from one machine to the next though, it has to be tuned or modified to work properly. steve

Okay wasn't sure about the a-arms. Ill do a bit of modification to the shocks.

measure the arms and see if they will work. it is not set in stone. any frame can be modded to work with a set of arms. there are guys that put 450r arms on 400s quite often by just moving the mounts back a bit to compensate for the wider A. the yfz arms may be closer than I think, i for one dont have any to find out. lol. steve

I dont have any here but dont wanna buy some and find out later. Not really crazy about cutting and welding. The shock isn't so bad but moving the a-arm mounts. The 250r a-arms bolt right up? Are they and longer then the 400ex?

as bkelley said they do bolt right up but i believe that they are the same size. steve
