I have a 04 400 ex. Just rebuilt it and got all the kinks worked out. So far theres a huge improvement over stock power. And I got pretty excited last weekend when I beat a kx125! Well of course I want more power. Ill give you the mod list and ill be ready for suggestions.
Stock bore weisco 11:1 piston
Stage 2 hotcam
Fresh lapped valves, new valve seals
168 main, 42 pilot jetting (running on 93)
Amr monster coil
Hmf slip on
Grinded header welds
No air box lid
I dont want to go with big bore or any crank mods unless I have to rebuild again. The only thing Im thinking of is a cdi and maybe a 3* timing key. Would the timing key be a bad idea with a high compression piston. Seems like I have seen where people are using the 3* with 11:1 with no problems. I just want to still be able to run pump gas. Ive also considered a 450r carb. But would that really make a big difference?
