I installed my FW hood that is FOR FULLBORES => on an old used OEM hood, then mounted it to my 2 piece Maiers like normal. Doesn't look too bad imo, still plan to get Fullbores, but gives others another option... These pics were taken from my phone, but you get the idea.

looks good! save the money on the price of the full bores and buy more go fast parts. or better yet another project.

There's a slight gap on each side that runs the length of the hood, about 3/16"-1/8" or so. Actually the front I can get to line up better if I didn't have the IMS tank, I had to push the hood as far forward as I could to clear the tank, still had to trim a little. Being that the OEM hood is red and the FW hood is red, unless you know what you're looking for you can't tell the gap that easily. The last picture shows the gap, sort of.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I could spend $500-600 on new plastic or put that towards an Aftermarket frame and start a new project... I really wanted that FW hood mounted cause Jay made it for my project, but didn't want it to look rigged on there either, you know what I mean... But from what I'm hearing it looks fine... can't really tell all that much.

I'm suprised FW doesn't provide matching fasteners, that would drive me nuts too. Why doesn't FW make hoods that fit OEM type plastic?

I'm sure if you contact jay at fw. He would make you a hood to fit oem. You would just need to provide him something to start with he is more then helpful.

I need to be fair, those pics don't show the gap all that well. I just took these last night. I changed front graphics, which are still a work in progress, I'll update the pics when I finish the graphics.

The hood, however, I tried fabbing up a set of mounts that tightens the gap bw the FW hood and the white fenders, but it didn't work. My first 2 attempts anyway. The FW hood actually follows the contour of the oem hood quite well, just the OEM hood is too thick, and creates a slight gap bw. that you can see. But since both the oem hood and the FW hood are virtually the same color it isn't as noticeable, ... but not perfect either. So I'll continue to work out this and see if I can get it almost perfect.

Man you sure have a couple of nice R's there. I see the gap you are talking about and I can tell it is bugging the s_it out of you lol. So are those Fuul bore One piece fronts, or Maier. They sure are shiny and I'm interested in buying a set myself. But I would not like a one piece front fender if that is what you problem is.

Try sticking a strip of white graphic vinyl over the edge of the stock hood first and then attaching the FW. I bet once the stocker is white it will blend right in with the fenders and you'll never see it. Worth a try anyhow.
