Hey guys i have been working on a friends 06 yfz 450, it has a stroker crank and a 478 bbk, it kept getting coolant in the oil, so i put all new top end gaskets on it, and it seemed to fix it, he rode it for about 2 weeks, and now he said that it let out a big puff of white smoke, so he stopped and checked the oil and there was coolant in it again, i did notice when i had it that the water pump weep hole was leaking antifreeze when the atv was running, do you think this could be the problem or did it blow the head gasket again?????????

nope the mechanical seal in the water pump is bad allowing coolant to leak by

also if he was leaking antifreeze the whole time riding it could have got too hot and blown the head gasket. What comp piston he running?

Is thera an easy way i can tell whether its the water pump or not, i dnt really want to take the head back off to check the head gasket.

Water pump leaks are through the weep hole. If it's in the oil it's getting in somewhere else. Either head gasket or between the clutch cover. Sounds like you have two problems..
