Is it ok to use a 89mm head gasket on a 87mm bore?

If I were you I would just get a new gasket. There not very expensive.

If you want to save money and risk it then go ahead. I'm not sure of what will happen but If it was my quad I would get the gasket.

If you don't feel like driving just order it online.

I am sure that it would be fine. I am running a 85mm one on mine. the piston never makes it up high enough to get to the gasket anyway. what is the worst that will happen, it will blow and you will need one anyway lol. I say run it. steve

might as well do it right the first time. I use a stock OEM gasket on mine, works great, not one leak or problem

I wouldnt run anything but oem or cometic 3 piece ones that are metal. you will be fine running either one, i almost bought a 440 one to use anyway. What compression are you running? you could get an xr 400 gasket and create a bit better squench area and bump up the comp a bit more with the thinner xr gaskets. steve

any of them would work fine but you will be set with the 87 one. steve
