My sons 70 will cut out and stall when he goes down hill, happened at Malvern twice this weekend. He comes out of the corner pretty good and then goes down hill the bike will bog and cut out but does not do it anywhere else. Any ideas? Heres his set up, stage6 pro sport cylinder, power pro pipe, 21mm stock carb, stock variator and clutch, 4.25 rollers,1000rpm torque spring,787 belt. Quad runs great everywhere else just seems to always cut out at this same spot.

we were at malvern sat. night, not sure if i know you or not. not that it matters ,but which hill was it?

to me it sounds like you could have something in your tank that maybe moving around and when you go down the hill it plugs the pick up tubes for the gas,or possibly that your float maybe sticking.

does it stall and start back up or just bogg down and then pic up on the bottom of the hill?

The hill after the tripple and they make that right hander where the start straight ties in. It bogged in moto one and stalled in practice and the second moto. The kid had it started after about 10 seconds of kicking.

try to re-create the problem w/ the rear end jacked up on the same angle as the hill. Also is he on the throttle or coasting during the downhill stall? Does the bike idle ok?

this is a pretty steep hill that he is talking about ,so i still would put my money that there is something in the tank.

i would drain the tank through a strainer into a clear bottle, then rinse the tank out, also pull the pitcock apart and check it and the fuel lines.

bypass the stock petcock, and try again

I changed the fuel filter and checked my tank its clean, adjusted my float bowl, and raised the idle. Have to wait and see if it does it again. It would not do it if I picked the back end up and shook it around.

I bet you got it with the float adjustment.
