quick carrier help

I need to do this soon and the other sections take for ever to answer. i have a 300ex and a service manual but the manual just says install the carrier.


My question is do i install it so that the axle is in the top of the cariier or the bottom or front or back. i mean this by the offest in the carrier.

Any ideas?

if you got a new chain I always put the axle as far foward as possable then cut your chain to fit. if you are reusing your old chain it will not matter where you put the axle.

are you putting a new chain on if so adjust it so the axle is in the front

i will be using the same chian that i have now on it

If you put the axle toward the bottom you'll gain a little ground clearance.
