HEY GUYS.
around summer time i will be going into my engine to drop in a hi-comp piston, cam, valves, and springs.
i need to know what is the largest piston i can put in a stock bore cylinder? cani only put the stock size (hi-comp) piston, or can i remove the sleave, and up the piston size? i DO NOT want to bore.

if i can remove the sleave, what would be the pro's and/or cons of doing so?

also, on a 300ex, what size piston would i order if i removed the sleve....

what would an average price be for boreing the cylinder to maybe a "true 300", or "305" ?(i want a rounded price for just boring the cylinder)

help me out...

If you dont want to bore it then you can only go with a stock size piston. Its around $40-$80 to bore the cylinder.

its about 150-200 for a new sleeve then you have to buy a piston. i would guess you are just looking to bore it out and had the two confused.

prob 310 or 315 i guess.

all the local dealers by me are retarded and want 600 to bore to a 416 and put in a piston:huh

look in the red box (it's too small for me to read the yellow stuff)

297cc BORE KIT- #00267 $212.50----76mm Forged Piston, 13:1 - 10.5:1 Compression. This kit bores into the stock liner and comes with piston, pin, rings and circlips. 318cc when used with our stroker crank. (i think this is what i want...

"this kit bores into the stock liner"
does that mean it only bores out the stock sleve??

313cc BORE KIT - #00271 $315.95---78mm Forged Piston, 13:1 - 10.5:1 Compression. Requires re-sleeving. Kit comes with piston, pin, rings, circlips, head gasket and sleeve. 335cc when used with our stroker crank for the 250X & 300EX. 342cc when used with our stroker crank on the 300 2x4 or 4x4.

"re-quires resleeving".
so this one bores out the stock cylinder??
i think the 297cc kit is what i'm after, or something like it....

12.7mm STROKER - #16078 $277.55 ....??

12.7mm STROKER with HEAVY DUTY ROD - #16078B $545.55..??

witch of these do i want?
i'll also be dropping in a cam, srings, valves, and fst oil cooler (go ahead and do it right, ya' know)
do i need the stroker, or is that something i should/could wait on?
not necessary

my winter rebuild just started..

the powroll 297 kit is the largest you can go without resleeving..or atleast largest powroll offers without resleeving....you simply have your cylinder bored out to match this piston...this kit is a rip off...lol all that is is boring your cylidner 2mm over...u can simply go an buy a high compression wiseco piston that is 80 over which = 2mm and you will have a 297.....and wiseco pistons are like $100 bucks this kit is 200
