I finally got a chance to take some pics riding at a local MX track this wk end. The kids put in about 35-40 laps today and had a really good time riding. We dont get to ride MX much unless its a race day, so today was EXTRA special to get some much needed seat time in . Weather has been so hit and miss lately.
Thought I would post up and share

Great pics!!!! Thats some great seat time, Brandon looks awsome. Now that you have some practice time and races on the quad is there anything you would change? Hey, what camera are you using, it takes awsome pics!!! Derek

Thanks Derek !
I think the only thing we wouldnt have got was a gripper seat .MONKEY BUTT . :o :p LOL!
As for the Camera, I shoot with a Canon 40D. Todays pics were terrible (to me anyhow lol) we had 30 MPH winds-cold and sky was so dreary I didnt even try to dial in my settings. I was abit lazy today. :blah: Glad you liked them :)
We did work abit more with the shocks today since we had the track almost to ourselves... that made todays ride EXTRA special for Brandon and his Sister today .

Don't be so modest, they are great pics......... Now I'm no techy and I don't want to get all geeky, but the camera is one thing the lens is the main part, so what is it and what settings do you use?
I've got a 10.2 megapixel Sony which should be about the same quality as yours and I just use the auto focus on sports mode with the rapid shutter action, but your pictures are really sharp...... Love em!

haha I loooove shooting photography so Im OK with the geeky stuff .:p
your very correct on the lense. I shoot with good glass on my Sport lense. I use like most, the 70/200 2.8 and use manual settings or semi manual mainly . Having adjustability on your ISO,Apeture and Shutter works a whole lot better than relying on Auto. Auto will only focus on certain things and then other areas will be off.

This track lacks luster and with a cold dreay sky, I ended up with over exposed shots . I would have changed things if I was to take a more serious photo.

We took this one in between storms moving in and out ....once the sun popped out, I had Brandon ride like the dickens to get what I could . LOL :p
Colors were awesome that day !

That's some expensive lens, but well worth it, the clarity in your photo's is excellent.

It's my birthday in a couple of weeks..... guess what I want??

We hit the track today and had the best MX day ever ! Brandons clearing 53ft today . He overshot it by 4 feet and paid for it . LOL
Actually got both the kids doing it and Brandons nailed dbl'ing the whoops . Almost had a get-off, but had it mastered before we left . SUPER day ! :)
Done riding until we return from Nats.

I've got the lens!! F2.8 70-200mm.

Adam's racing this weekend and I can't wait to try it out.

Just hope I can make good use of it and get some decent shots! It should be better than my old lens anyway, as that's full of dust from 3 years of abuse!
