I plan on hopping up my motor big time within the next month. I have decided to go with the 440kit instead of the 416kit but I have a few questions about reliability. Here's the setup I plan on getting.
JE 440 Piston 89mm 10.5/1 ratio
Big Bore Sleeve
Heavy Duty Cam Chain
Heavy Duty Connecting Rod
Sparks Aggressive DROP IN CAM
Heavy Duty Clutch Kit
Heavy Duty Clutch Basket
Sparks High Rev CDI
PPG Large Oil Tank
I have heard of 440's blowing up because they didn't replace the Rocker Arms with a better set. Notice on my parts list on the CAM it says DROP IN CAM which the SPARKS site says that there is no need for HEAVY DUTY VALVE SPRINGS or REPLACEING ROCKER ARMS. Which would be better for reliability, going with the DROP IN CAM. Or going with another cam and also purchasing VALVE SPRINGS and ROCKER ARMS. Please I need opinions. Also go to www.sparksracing.com click on 400ex and click on engine. Then you will get a better idea of what i'm talkin about on the DROP IN CAMS. NEED SOME OPINIONS PLEASE!
