By clutch lever do you mean the shifter? I adjusted mine on my 450, but not much because if you adjusted it high you have a good chance of snapping the shifting rod...i did it on my 400ex because I was getting used to my boots.

i actauly had to adjust my "cluch" when i rode with riding boots. it wouldnt go into gear sometimes and was realy picky on how it was adjusted to shift good with riding boots. if i wore shoes it would shift fine then soon as i through my riding boot on it would hang up and not shift.

yup moving the shifter up will help that i rode my buddies and i noticed i couldnt shift sometime because i hadnt gone back to the middle position so that the prawl would catch again on the next shift

I make sure im sitting down and my foot slides under it easly so I dont have to point my toe down to fit under the shifter but personally I think its a preference.I sit stand and lean to make sure mine is were I want it before tighting it down.

Yep, definitely preference. I like to be able to get most of my toe of the boot under the shifter, and I shift with my whole leg as opposed to just rolling your ankle when shifting up.
