View Full Version : Drain Plug Problem!!!

Well i need some advice from all u fellas..I stripped the threads out of the drain plug on the motor!!! A friend said i could fix it with a heli-coil. I was wondering if anybody had this happen to them and how did they fix the problem. I have the 500 outlaw.

Look up Timesert.com. I think it is a better way to go.

I Agree! Timeserts are nice and way better than helicoils.

Thanks guys for the help. Now to try and find somebody up here in canada that knows what a time-sert is and where to get them lol. Couple places i went to already have never heard of time-serts !! Un real...

Ebay. There is a guy in Arizona on there that sells the kits. They are about $100 but have 5 bushings in the kit.

I just had the same thing happen to me and I ordered the time sert kit. I will be doing mine next week. I will let you know how it goes and any tips if you want. they did send me 5 time serts with the kit? Would you like to buy it off of me? up to you.

sheriff u have the ktm 525 don't you ? I have the fuji 500 bolt size is a m14 1.5. Not sure if there the same size.

I don't think that sounds like the same but who cares. Mine is 15m 1.5 I think. You can just get a new drain plug that size if you wish. If not no worries. I am sure my brothers will be needing it soon as we have 4 outlaws.
