New to the mini quad scene. My son went to his first practice today. On his third time out his quad started to get a miss on the top-end on the long straights of ways. I bought the quad used dont really know what is done to the motor besides a trinity pipe. I think it maybe a jetting issue. Figured I could get somegood input on here. Any advise would be appreciated.

It is a apex 90. The guy I bought it off said it is a 28mm keihin carb.

Are you to lean on the top side? Thats what it sounds like or your ground from frame to motor needs a good cleaning. This will happen.

Check your plug could be a bad plug, if the plug is white it could be running a little lean on the top. Could be several different things but I would start with the plug sounds like a lean condition to me.

I'd clean the carb. If nothing is plugging a jet, I agree, lean.

Thanks to all that replied. It was the ground. You were wright tgcheeseman. But it is running a little lean also. Got to order some jets monday. Thanks again. Never would have guessed it to be a ground.

I always recommend a extra wire from frame to motor.

Your welcome. I had the same thing happen to me. But it was after powder coating. Glad you got it fixed. If you need jets let me know.
