Man I can't ever get a break. At our last race I heard some clanging noise at low rpms but went away at high rpms.

well come to find out the 2 bolts that hold the water pump drive plate backed out and stripped out. Any suggestions how to remove a pvl rotor when the 2 holes are stripped out. I thought I would ask before I break something.

never had this problem,but can you drill it out and tap it for a larger bolt or drill out and install helli coils for the same size bolts?

i would try to tap threads the same size first, then if that wont work do like rommell said and put in heli coils and will be good as new

Thanks guys, I ended up getting it tapped and getting it out. Unfortunately the holes are now oblong and when I heli coiled it it went in sideways, so I think this is not fixable.

Can you rotate the pump plate and tap new holes?

Brad is correct. Just be very accurate, because if they are off even alittle bit you will tear up the rubbers or the impellar will leak. Been there done that :=)

I don't suppose you have another large taper rotor sitting around?

had the same happen to me last year, had to retap to pull it and then tapped it to take 10mm bolts to make sure it didt happen again.
