yea if you go behind the nuclear plant towers by the train tracks, its called longview road, if you head toward the towers of the plant on longview road theres a little road to your left by the tracks, its not on a map but youll see it, it goes under the tracks and then it will lead you out to the big fields and tracks, stay away from the plant and the cops wont bother you! if you want i can meet up with you on a sunday or somthing and lead you to it and ride?

dont post spots up on forums. Meet people, and show them, or pm them. atleast try to keep your spots safe from police enforcement. Out of site out of mind.

Most of the area in and around st clair is ownder by reading anthracite. You can get a $100 yearly pass to ride up there. You risk getting fined and towed up there riding without the pass/permit. And i HAVE been stopped(actually blocked off so we couldnt run) on the trails up there, but thankfully we had our permits.

The area has hands down the best riding i have ever done. Almost endless trails.

Anyone gonna be up that way this weekend. I think were gonna take a trip in the rhinos up there again.

Heres a few pics and videos from my past trips up to st clair. The view from "top of the world" is crazy, also some very scenic spots and hidden waterfalls.

Been there quite a few times now and haven't found those boulders or creek/river. Do you have a gps map for that area or can u let me know where is that area @.

This is where we rode on Thursday

Im not positive, but it looks like they rode exclusively around the St. Clair area, I do recognize a few of those spots. My friends and I just rode there on friday, we rode to both wolf creek and silver creek resevoirs, but i've never been to the area posted in your link north of Pine Hill.

Be aware; ever since 911 the reservoirs are now considered as Homeland Security area so if they catch you there or nearby, they will arrest you and take your bike away. Been told last year if you are within a 1000 feet from the reservoirs, they will stop you and chase you if need be. We were lucky last year due to we went during the week and park our bikes about 300 yards away from the reservoirs so they did not hear us.

That sucks, i'm glad we got lucky and didn't run into any trouble, thanks for the heads up! I really do enjoy the scenery around there though.

I wonder if the waterfalls in spawns pics are runoff from one of the resevoirs up there, those spots i've also never seen.

Yeah! It is real nice and we were lucky also because we took some pictures while we were there and when got back to the parking lot, we found out about the new law and were told some riders were chase the weekend before by some black SUV, 2 of them!! so we were very lucky.

Oh well, at leat there's still plenty of other areas other than the reservoirs to enjoy some good riding. Ive riden that area only six times now, and each time we end up on a different trail and find something new. All that area for 100 bucks, can't beat it.

Hey whats up?

The second pic(waterfall) was taken at the Wolf Creek area. If you go down the lane to wolf creek and get to the end(where the concrete wall is) and go to the left, down in the woods is where that waterfall is. It goes down hill pretty far also, pics dont do it justice.

The other waterfall pics are of another waterfall tucked deep in the woods. We were lucky enough to catch up with a guy that knew the area(must have been local) on our first trip there that showed us this waterfall. It is off the trail a ways and would never be found unless you know exactly where its at. To say its beautiful would be cutting it short, its amazing to see! The pics do no justice to its size either.

The rock climb bolders were not far off of burma rd on the walmart side of things.

We have been up there for several trips(including last weekend) and only ride the st clair area. We are wanting to learn some new areas but have no idea of where to go or better yet, park safely.

I WAS WORKING IN CAPE MAY COUNTY TODAY SO I ROLLED PAST WOODBINE PIT JUST TO CHECK IT OUT. UNFORTUNATELY THE ENTIRE PLACE IS FENCED OFF WITH 10FT CHAIN LINK.. MY GUESS IS THAT THE AIRPORT FINALLY HAD ENOUGH OF ALL THE IDIOTS RIDING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE HANDFUL OF SH*TBAGS THAT WERE TRASHING UP THE PLACE. ANOTHER GREAT SPOT RUINED DUE TO IDIOTS

It's up to those of us who care to police those riders and idiots who litter and trash these great places we enjoy riding!!
as for Wolfcreek I was just in St. clair for my first time and met up with some guys that said they would show me the dam and the view. I'm not one to break laws but I'm wondering with all the trails that head north off Reading Anthracites property is it the trails or just by the water res. that they really want people to stay away from I saw over 50 atv's ,dirtbikes riding all over those and going to wolfcreek. heck I have a gps mounted to my quad and I still got messed up and not sure if I was still on RA property half the time . I'll be buying a permit from RA every year now can't beat the deal. 20,000 acres total in 3 counties for $100 .

They only monitored around the dam/reservoirs which is accounts for about 2000 feet around them but I would be careful not going near them since who knows how the ranger/cop might feel that day. Better be safe then sorry. RAC has some land around Wolfcreek and there are some nice water pits/falls.

Hey guys I'm up in Reading,Pa., and always looking for places to ride. theres three of us up in Oley - Fleetwood area, and one guy from Maple grove area. All of us are responsable and clean riders. If any body could give up some places to ride info, or like to meet up to atv, shoot me a PM. Our usual trips are up to Lost Trails in the Poconos, fun place but beets the p ss out of ya from all the rocks. Were also looking into another place - free to ride area. So when I get the info, I can also pass on.

We are heading towards SSRT this Friday thru Sunday, anybody is more than welcome to ride with us, some of us are staying at the Ramada Inn and others are staying at the Super 8 which is cheaper but we couldn't get out of our reservation.

here's a link about SSRT. Read their rules and need a permit.

the owner of the property got tired of kids trying to sue him for getting hurt and fenced it off.

if caught back there its a 2500 dollar fine and possible jail time. the owner is pressing charges. theres also a state police barrack right down the street on 550. so its basiclly impossible to ride there anymore. theres a few holes in the fence here and there that if you know someone local you can park and ride the trails to get there.

it sucks, i live 10 mins from there. grew up riding that pit and morons got it shut down for the guys who actually respected it.

but it has nothing to do with the airport.

Whatever happened to Yo-fault Insurance Co.? If you get hurt it's Yo-fault! People should learn to ride careful, responsible and safe. I broke my leg and arm in maple pit at the end of 2003 and I never sued. I new that i shouldnt have been there also. i dont see how it is right that people can sue for that and win... It's messed up.

that hill is not so big anymore.. we ride out there once in while we usually stop there as part of our loop depending on what time of day we ride. i like it out there. you can clip thru those trails without a problem

I've done some research on this one, it seems as though Yo-fault Insurance Co was bought out by the ACA (Ambulance Chasers Association) who in turn, partnered with the Law Firm of We Gettin Paid, We Gettin Paid and Your pain our gain. The Firm was subsequently disbanded with too many offshore accounts only to re-emerge years later as a subsidiary of Haliburton.
There ya have it, straight outta wikipedia folks, can't make this stuff up.

WOAH.... I thought I just made that up... Its still messed up that people sue from their own carelessness. It wouldnt be so bad if people would not litter, ride down 25 mph roads at 70+ mph, run from cops, wear helmets at least... It should be easier to get our 20+ year old atv's registered.. Who the heck has a certificate of origin for a 1986 atv??? After it has been through 5 or more owners

its actually really easy to title it. i know you need the VIN, bill of sale and possibly one other thing. then go to MVC and do it up

OK, WOW I'm showin my age here now, but since when did we start registering our quads.
Lemme guess, all the places legal to ride require it right!? Atco, Chatsworth, Blue Diamond, I suspect I should just go out and get the orange Flags on a pole as well huh.
Still something about registering dont sit well with me.
How much is it and how often do you have to re-register?

99warriorNJ
10-16-2010, 02:56 PM
even tho dirtbikes and quads are technically illegal to ride on state land, the state still requires the owner to register and insure them. from what ive been told, only real benefit is if you get caught riding "illegally", cops cant impound it. they can only issue a trespassing ticket.. not sure how much it costs. re register would be very year.. i think. i know if you call MVC, they will tell you. when and if you register a quad or dirtbike, the MVC actually gives you a registration sticker that they want you to stick on it. i think the website have the info on it. pretty sure tracks dont require it.

brokenmike
10-17-2010, 06:11 AM
I never got a registration sticker. I got 2 quads registered and insured and I didn't get a sticker or got told that I have to put the registration number on it or anything. I just renewed them in September. I think it was $17. You gotta renew it every September also. I know if you Get stopped and have reg. & ins. they can't give you tickets for not having it and they can't tow your bike

I seem to recal my brother-in-law glouting (sp ?) about the fact that he could cross roads or ride them briefly after he registered.
I never like em much which is probably why I never did it.
Come to think of it, I still dont like em.
OK, so you can be ticketed, but not impounded, Maybe.
What about the legal places, do they require it?
I mean, can you go to Blue Diamond without having your quad registered.
I come from the "outlaw" generation and I'm not ashamed to admit that we RAN son, whenever and where ever possible. Where I came from, thats what you did.
I understand things have changed and those days are pretty much gone but I'm still tryin to figure out what the advantage to registering are. Like Warrior said, "because the State Requires it" I'm still laffin.......F # @ K the State.
So, the question remains, (help me be a good citizen here)
What can you do with a registered quad that you cant with a un-registered one.

99warriorNJ
10-17-2010, 09:57 AM
i was told by a state official that nabbed us in an unposted wildlife management area that when you reg and ins, the state issues reg stickers that need to be placed on the quad. maybe they did away with it but thats what i was told

basically registering your quad ensures youll keep it and not pay the max in penalties. when you have it registered, it allows you to ride from private property to private property on the shoulder on any non highway road at "safe speeds". as far as i know distance isnt a factor either. your supposed to cross any and all roads necessary at a 90 degree turn. if you are riding from private property to private property and police do stop you, all you need to do is show them your documents and they send you on your way. legal places to ride only require it if they state they do in their requirements for riding there. very few places actually want to see paper work showing you have reg and ins.

Sorry to bump this, but got some good info.

1. Registering and insuring it means its harder to be impounded or if it is you can get it back. Usually they let you go if its reg/ins. Basically they can impound it if your trespassing on public lands-specially state wildlife management units (basically everything in NJ is designated this btw)

2. EVERYWHERE except private property its illegal to ride in NJ basically. Some towns, like mine state min 3 acres to ride on and you gotta be so far away from another house or the road. In my case I have a neighbor who hates me and called so much the cops stopped coming, everytime they did it was already away and they told me not to ride (proving I was riding it was key and they couldnt).

3. With the money you pay to register the atv there are 3 parks supposed to be built. I have heard they already have the land but due to opposition by nearby residents, environmental wackjobs and lack of money they wont be getting built anytime soon.

4. Getting one registered is SUPER hard unless the bill of sale came from the last owner and it is NOTARIZED! I got a bill of sale and had no luck with mine, infact they told me it had no info based on the vin (it did exist it just had no owner). I told them therefore I am the only owner as I am in possession of the ATV. Well they didnt like that and told me to contact the abandoned veh dept.

My friend had the same deal too, they wanted a notarized bill of sale from the owner listed-which he didnt even buy it from or know!

For entertainment purposes only...this is illegal, dont do it (that being said read on):
-You can registered it very easily. You need to find out the last owner, then find someone to notarize a bill of sale for you with that persons name on it (make friends with a notary!). OR if your lucky and your atv has no info in the system (usually bought out of state) then get a friend and get a notarized bill of sale made up for a legit like amount and it will be done. If the DMV wont do it, try another one-some are more jerky than others.

All you gotta do is take it down to the DMV with that notarized paper and insurance card and your set. I have had mine registered for the past 2 years and it sucks cause insurance is $250/year and geico was the only one who would insure it for me but I got it done.

I had my stuff garaged in NJ and got a title (must prove sale tax) in pa. Insurance was through foremost(when i had insurance on the kids quads) now I just have it thru rider in springfield. I reg/ins for the same reasons as ur post - we'd have two out of the three papers the cops ask u for when they pull u over. Plus they can't get u for an unreg/ unisured ride. Its all BS but spend ur money in pa - f NJ they don't get it.
We ride mx now & don't do any local trail so I haven't bothered w/ the title/reg crap. MX gets a little costly and we r buying alot of stuff & I'm not paying sales tax on a quad - we only want it for the motor.

Good luck to everyone - it all a game - enjoy your illegal habit

Years ago pa had a sign "America starts here" I think they r right but NJ took offense
