Finally got my jdperformance +2" a arms yesterday, and started the install last night. Boy was it a royal pain in the ***** to get the stock ball joints off the knuckles! As far as I got last night was installing the new lower a arms. Didnt have a socket big enough for the new upper arm ball joints... Bummer but I just picked up a set and hopefully will be able to finish it up tonight!

My main concern is setting camber/toe on them. I'm a bit nervous about that! I'm going to run a new set of works tripples too btw.

I'll post up some pics when I get to the house after work. Any of you guys have any tips/suggestions that may help my install go a bit smoother?
Thanks Guys,
Tyler

Just take your time and don't get frustrated. If something isn't going right, take a break and crack open a beer. My arms went on pretty smooth, but it took two or three hours of steady work. As for adjusting the toe-in and camber, check this out: http://www.atvrideronline.com/tech/0706_atvp_toe_camber_adjustment/index.html.

I read on here how to remove the ball joints using 2 sockets but I forgot how to do it and couldn't find the link either.

Found it

Those arms look good. I used to have those very same arms on my 400, they are built very well. I like that "mango" color too, it's different

Hey just so you know, your tie rod ends are mounted upside down where they attach to the spindles. Right now you have the ball joints for the tie rods on the top of the spindle. Just need to flip them over so the nut is on the top instead ;)

Good eye there NacsMXer your exactly right. the tye rod is upside down.
I have the same a arms and I can tell you that it’s worth the extra money to get the roller bearings to go with the bushings. My bushings only lasted a little over a year without the bearings.
They look nice and I know your going to love them, and with the shocks to go with them it will be sweet.

Here is a pic of the bushings and bearing.

Wow, thanks guys! I feel like an idiot :D

I got the needle bearing upgrade w/ 'em. It's pretty cool how jdperformance sends you a .pdf file with tons and tons of diff powder coating options. Only problem was that there were so many different shades of orange to choose from, but I am extremely happy with my choice...

Here's a couple pics. It's looking better. Still gotta flip the tie rod ends around:D

Thanks man, me too!
Put on the g force extended hubs. Thinkin I may just need a new axle though. With the baja wheels and the hubs, it looks like there's gonna be some stress on that axle. I dont really hit any big jumps, mainly just ridin' the trails with the occasional small jump. What do yall think? New axle or not?

I honestly don't think you'll bend the axle. Unless you take it to a track weekly and hit triples and rhythm sections all day, that is. I've never heard of a person ending up with a bent axle from using the hubs.

Regardless, looks good, man. You'll love how it rides.

Yeah I definitely dont do that... It just had me thinking b/c my rims are wide as well. I definitely dont see any point in spending the extra time and money on the axle based on my riding style

oh and I definitely like the ride. Had it out this afternoon, and combined with the +2 front end, I felt much more control going into high speed turns!

It seriously feels like a whole new quad!

Yeah, it really does. I still haven't really gotten mine dirty since putting the hubs or 450r carb on. Going on a big dune trip next week, though. Should be a blast with the hubs, carb and my new paddles.

should be fun man! You're lucky, when I go to the beach in galveston it's mainly just flat sand where I ride:(

Flat sand? Sounds boring haha. We're going out to Rasor Dunes (http://www.duneguide.com/sand_dune_guide_rasor_dunes.htm). It's pretty cool because it's not very popular. On off weekends there are only a handful of people out there. Hills aren't as big as Glamis or Dumont, but it's still fun. There is a sand half pipe that is awesome.

I say get a better axel. You are ridding a 400+ pound machine and it can go up to 70 mph.
There can be a lot of stress on that part of the bike so you want it to be very strong. Remember now that it’s wider you will be going faster then you have before and hitting things much harder as well. That extra leverage that spacer puts on that spline may snap that sucker.

Well I certainly dont want my axle to give while I'm haulin @$$ or in the air! That would suck big time...

I'm just gonna keep it the way it is for now and take it easy. No big jumps or anything like that. Prob upgrade to an axle down the road.

Hey Kelley, let me know how it goes out there next week with the g forces.

Slightlybent, where all do you ride in houston, and what part of town you from?
