will a 06 450r cam work in a 2005 450r

I need a cam for a 2005 trx 450r, and I have a extra for a 2006 450r. Does anyone know if it will work?

it will work but im not sure how different it will be performance wise. i know an 05 cam will swap into an 06 and actually add power i dunno about the other way around tho

Yes it will fit but performance will flat suck. The stock 06 cam is much much smaller than the stock 04-05 cam. If all you are doing is looking for it to run then yes, it will work. Even the 06+ HRC cam is very close in specs to the stock 04-05 cam and is the reason some people put the stockers in their 06 up machines. Make sure to check the valve clearance! (.006" intake, .011" ex)

It will work but you will have less top end and more bottom end than the stock 04/05.

It will feel like a power loss.
