hose on back of cylinder

I HAVE AN 06 450R NEED TO KNOW WHERE THE HOSE THAT COMES OUT OF THE BACK OF THE CYLINDER HEAD GOES OR IF IT SHOULD HAVE A CHECK VALVE ON IT . GETTING WATER IN TRANSMISSION

There is a place for it in the shroud underneath the tank. The spot is toward the back, on the right side. The tube should make a "U", and point toward the ground.
