I'm retiring ... new MOD spot opening up.

Well boys and girls .... it's been a good run here on ATVRiders for me , but after over 8 years I think it's time to call it quits. Being a mod has it's ups and downs ( Ups include banning people:D , downs include cluttered email inbox :( ) , but it's been fun.

With that being said , a new Moderator spot will be opening up and I have been given the green light , as my fairwell gift, to be able to choose who will be the next Moderator.

So tell me .... WHY should I pick you as the next Moderator ????

Anyone with spelling mistakes , or bad sentence structure or incorrect punctuation will be disqualified !!!

But no , this is not an April Fools joke on my part . I've been here for over 8 years and enjoyed every minute of it ... but I now have other commitements that I need to fulfill and will not be able to spend nearly as much time on here as I once was able to.

I'm getting married in the fall , so this wedding planning crap has taken up a lot of my time already and it's only going to get worse as the date get's closer. Plus I'm just not into ATVs as much as I once was. I bought a new truck , which has turned into my "new" hobby... so i figured it just wouldn't be fair to take up a Moderator spot , when it could be passed on to someone that will have more time.

Good luck man! With the family thing and all. Families are great, and its good to hear that thats what you want to put you time into. Riding is what my wife, son, and entire extended family do to spend time with eachother. I hope everything works out for you!

Tons of benefits.

First off , you get to deal with members on a daily basis. You get to use the Ban button ( let me tell you, it's the highlight of my day), you get to delete posts or move them around , edit them and so on.

Plus as a Mod, you get to double as a reporter . We fly around to different races and events , get to try out the latest and greatest parts and accessories. Hang out with the leaders of the industry. You ever see how many quads Pappy get's to try out?? On any given day , he could start a delaership with the amount of quads sitting in his yard.

Plus there's also the benefit of free SWAG and you get to attend the annual ATVRiders "conference" that we hold every July. Basically we sit around at a resort , shoot the chit about what's going to happen within the next year , drink beer ... lots of deer .... and watch a few guys try and get Quadjunkies to show them those pics she took years ago.

As of May 1st ... it will be a new policy that anyone who does not take the time to verify their post before posting it up will be given a warning ( up to a maximum of 3 warnings) , then their account will be frozen for a week. If it continues it will be a month long account freeze , then a ban.

Now you see why I will not have the time to continue as a Moderator.

I always try to post educational and thorough posts, as well as the occasional funny one to make everyone laugh. I do not put up with B.S. and think this site has the potential to be much better once the idiots are removed. Also with being out of school for the summer, I will have plenty of time to get the new system going strong.

Yes I got banned... I personally think it was unnecessary as I have never had a warning or anything prior. But it is what it is I guess. Mods will watch other members say the same things to one another but when it's one of them, oh no, that's not gonna fly. :rolleyes:

I was off for a bit, I was looking for a new quad and decided this was the best place for info. Now i seem to check it out everyday again. I guess i missed it......Jeff and Jamies dad have been trading secrets back and forth lately, i have still not met her yet. Hopefully soon, i hear shes a pretty good rider. Hopefully she can come down to some races around here and show the boys how its done.

I was off for a bit, I was looking for a new quad and decided this was the best place for info. Now i seem to check it out everyday again. I guess i missed it......Jeff and Jamies dad have been trading secrets back and forth lately, i have still not met her yet. Hopefully soon, i hear shes a pretty good rider. Hopefully she can come down to some races around here and show the boys how its done.

How have you been? Congratulations on the upcoming wedding.

I know they have plans to run a lot of races down in southern Ontario this year since there isn't much competition for her up here. If she wouldn't have broken her arm last year , I believe she had the championship wrapped up. Rob has her Apex running sweet. It pulls crazy hard and is FAST. I ain't BSing when I say it takes all other Apex minis by a good 5 or 7 lengths when the gates drop.

What kind of quad are you looking to buy? Does Jeff still race?

Thanks for the congrats .... we've been doing a lot of planning lately , although it's not as hectic as most others weddings , since we've been engaged for a year and half so we take one thing at a time.

I purchased a 09 DS450, love it too. has great power and suspension. Jeff retired he now has a Jeep.
Robin had her quad down here last fall, we were doing drags against our other riders apex that runs ama. We were running about the same HP and speeds. and now we both have gone bigger so i would imagine he will be back to compare again.

Keep the wedding cheap, and go big on the honeymoon. thats what i think. :D
