1. I've seen some people run a couple of the dirt bike crf450 cams and other parts from the motor

2. On a 05 450 is it better to run the 06 carb? Or should I get my 05 carb worked on?

3. Any comments on hot rod cranks if I decide to go that way

06 carb is better but your not going to go from last place to first with it. if you jet your 05 carb right it will be just as good. spend the money on other things.

3. Any comments on hot rod cranks if I decide to go that way )06 carb is a much better carb. Better response and great to mod with a bigger build such as a 3 mill hot rod crank.

As far as the crank, im running a 3mill with over 100 hours and 360 dyno runs. And its unbalanced by the way.

06 carb is much better...it has a changeable leak jet, better response and works extremely well with a built engine...however if your running trails or racing gncc the 04/05 carbs are number one choice because they have a smoother transition of power.

the crank issue personally i would never buy a hot rods crank ive seen alot come apart...alot be very unbalance and one that didnt even fit in the cases
