I have been looking for a company that carries these for a 400ex, but I can't find one. Where did you guys buy yours? How much?

I got mine from sprocket specialist for much less than $30. Go to a shop and have them look it up and they can get it is about 2-3 days. Mine was order from the Parts Unlimited book.

A 16 tooth drive sprocket. For more top speed and futher spread gearing.

yea the 16 works good on a 400ex. when i got my quad that's what was on it, then i went down to a 15 and lost a lot of speed, and it revs out to quick in each gear, i have to shift like crazy now, once my chain stretches out a little i'll pu it back on. i have a 39 tooth rear and the 16 won't work with it with a bran new chain. it's really wierd.

Do you have enough motor to turn a 16 tooth sprocket??? A stock 400ex motor can do it but you'll loose alot of bottom end..what type of riding do you do????

Man i dont understand how these guys like to run a 16t!!!! Unless you ride on the interstate or fire roads then i just dont see why anyone would want one! I have more motor than needed and still dont like the 16t up front! Stock gearing is the best combo for the EX for all the riding ive ever done, except for drag racing with the 22 inch Pro Wedges then I put the 14t on the front!!

I think it's so when they get out and ride..they keep sayin to themselves.....Me fast, me fast, me fast...:huh
LMFAO

also what size rear tires do you have? If you have 18's maybe but i dont think a stock engine and tire quad would be to good with it.

I don't even like 15 on a stock motor, I like running a 14.

Actually a few of the fast guys at the GNCCs are running 16t fronts. I Believe Macri and Duvall are both or were running them a good bit last year. It just all depends on how u like your power to come on. Personally ide rather have a smooth rool on power for it the woods. It allows u to get into a good rythm much easier.

Well, I would like to buy one and find out if I like it for myself. I ride a lot of trails and do some jumping. I DO ride on fireroads and have logged in probably 20 or so miles on the highway. I just want to try it out and have the option of more top speed. As for running a 14 tooth front sprocket with a stock motor, I did that for a while. I hated it at first, then got used to it. Then I switched back to the 15 and decided to keep that. The 14 is good for building trails, but if you plan on just riding.... I prefer a 15. Also, I have a 440 not a stock motor. We plan on making it a 500 in the next few weeks.

my 440 ran very well with the 16 tooth. you will have no problem exceeding 70 mph on those fire roads.

for trail riding though, i prefere my 14 tooth

i like a 16 tooth in the front and all i have is a 416, cam, FCR39, and a slip-on. with the 15/37 i was runnin last year, without the FCR, i would start in 2nd gear, and have to shift when i was on the other side of the gate, and no i wasnt spinnin too much. so i am now runnin 16/36 this year on bigger tracks, but for small tight tracks, i still run 15/37. oh yeah im runnin 18's in the rear.
