are badass.
395 hp to the WHEELS, which makes it out to be 440ish at the crank with a 12% drivetrain loss.
and a .98g on the skidpad!

Ford, I salute you. Not taking the bailout money, then going out and building a truly badass car. Can't say the same about GM.http://images2.fanpop.com/image/photos/9700000/2011-mustang-GT-muscle-cars-9735767-1280-847.jpg

and this is all coming from a Euro car loving BMW owner

Where are the updated cars from GM and Chrysler, oh yeah that's right they are owned by the government.

Ford has a strong market for the Mustang and is now making it better.

I am not a brand specific driver and I salute Ford for reading between the lines for unloading Jaguar, Land Rover, etc. before the automobile industry took a dive and not participating in the bailout.

This is coming from someone who has owned Ford, Nissan, Honda, Toyota, Chevrolet and Chrysler/Dodge. By far the Chrysler/Doge is the worst and I will never own another.

Ford desperately needs this new Stang. The current model is being handily outsold by the Camaro. In fact, the Mustang was cut back to a single plant only running one shift. As far as bailout money goes, GM's repaying $1 billion of the $6.7 billion tomorrow and is going to make $1 billion payments for the following 5 months. They said it will be repayed in June of this year.

the answer would be the gt500:D

im a ford guy, so i love whatever there doing, but the bailout refusal, the updated styling of the stang, and the revival of the 5.0 puts them at an all time high in my book.

GM, Chrysler, time to take some notes from good old dearborn:cool:

Im about 30 minutes from the plant and the test cars are all over the roads. Not really much change from what was released this year with the exception of power plant and instead of the GT badge on the front fender in front of the doors there is a 5.0 badge.

As far as the plant cutting down because of lack sales is not true. My dad works there and they are cutting to one shift because Mazda is pulling the 6 out of there and they run down the same assembly line. So instead of running two cars on two shifts building 600 a shift they are running one shift 800 cars. Look it up!

Umm, no it hasent? Ford released a statement saying the 5.0 is going to make 412hp to the crank. Now that they're out, the dynos are showing 400 WHEEL horsepower, which equals to 440 crank hp. This is relatively new, hence the march 25th date.

I'm not saying those numbers are real or not but did they buy it off a dealership floor like that or was it a media car supplied by Ford? If it was a supplied car it's not uncommon to give "ringers" out to mags to test. Years ago when the LS1 debuted in the Camaro they took a 'stock' LS1 6-speed that was supplied by GM and it ran a 12.9. There ain't no way a truly stock LS1 Camaro is running high 12's.

I think the GT350 if they make one is going to be a v6 from what ive heard and the GT500 will probably get a boost in power since the GT is so high up there. Nothing wrong with the 4.6's in todays mustangs, especially the 3v, but if you wouldnt consider an 03/04 cobra, somethings wrong and you dont know mustangs. Now if your talking new ones id take the 5.0 over the GT500, cheaper insurance for one and then I could build a 500+rwhp n/a street car with ease

i wasnt looking through all the pages, what is the motor set up in it? I know they released the same type of stuff for the 05 model and it never came.

The '11 v6 runs 13.7 according to motor trend i think thats the magazine that did the test. Kinda awesome they have it running that well out the box
