I just got kenda klaw xc 20x11x9 on 9x8 wheels and they arent ballooned at all.

Havent tried them yet since the quad doesnt run right now, but the reason I went with them is b/c they boast depending on which way you run them (can flip the wheels around) they are better for soft to medium and then medium to harder surfaces.

All the reviews were positive too..

Otherwise my 2nd choice was maxxis razr cause everyone says they are the best. I wanted to be different and I ride in sandy conditions alot too.

what kind of riding do you do? if your wanting a tire thats a hair taller, ITP has their holeshot GNCC tire in a 21-11x9 size. but its kind of a heavy tire.

and as for the maxxis razr, its hard to beat as an all-around performance trail tire, and especially if you take and cut a groove in the lugs it makes em hook up alot better on hard pack because it lets the knobs flex more. i'll try and get some close up pics of my razr tires.

i do all kinds of ridding from hard packed trails to deep mud, i was planning on getting a rim and tire combo from moto sport and the nicest one so far are the artrax which is the same size i have now

I'd have to second the Kenda Claws in 21 or 22 inches. My buddy runs them on his YFZ and loves them.

im pondering cst ambushes or maxxis razrs. they are oth the same tread pattern but one is cheng shin and one is maxxis. also the abush has a spider shaped tread instead of the block on the razr. sorry for jacking your thread

I have holeshot HD's on the back of my DS650 and they are great. I also had them on my 400ex and I loved them. I also do alot of trail, mud and recreational riding. I dont race so the weight of the tires is not an issue to me.

Also the holeshot hd's do not ballon. They have a very flat profile.

GBC X-Rex. its a six-ply tire, great bite and has pushed me through mud holes i never should have made it through. tough as nails.

im gonna give the kenda klaw xcs another vote. i have 23 22 combo and a 14 tooth sprocket and it goes like a 4x4. still close to the same gearing but more clearance and more bite in deep stuff.

heres some pics of my tires. I didnt groove these my self, I actully bought em like this. ALOT of the xc racers run tires grooved like this. it makes the knobs alot more flexible under acceleration and braking. the angled knobs on the sidewall treads help a ton with traction in corners and off camber trails and stuff. ive rode on just regular razrs and the difference it makes putting these grooves in em is VERY worth the effort. most people take a big grinder and cut the grooves in the tires. its a nasty job that takes a few hours to do.

Ive been running Swampers since last fall. One of the best upgrades ive done for the riding I do. Prolly not much of a race tire, but does great on the trails. Makes getting around in the slop a lot easier. Hooks up very good. Running stock gearing with these 22" tires. Little extra clearance helped a bit too.

All I do is trail ride. And im looking for a little more clearance and traction. looks like these tire would do both of those things. had any problems with them rubbing or hitting the plastics. got to try and stay up with my wife's 4x4 in the mud and ruts

Never had any rub problems, still plenty of room to be had. Got a buddy going to put these tires on his z400. Its still no 4x4 mud machine but gets around better than I had figured.
