WHO WILL WIN : HONDA 250R or YAMAHA BLASTER?

Hey whats up I have a Yamaha Blaster 02 and was wondering If I had any chance competing agianst Honda 250r's nad if not stock what would I have to do to make it doable?

the 250R is ALOT faster than a blaster, and it will take alot of $$$ to make the blaster comparable to the 250R, you'd be better off buying one or as the guys at www.bluetraxx.com , im sure they know how to beat one:rolleyes: :blah :devil

yea my friend just bought a 1986 honda 250r and was jsut wonderign if i'd be able to keep up with him now the quad is in pieces because he is rebuilding it from the ground up so I was just curious if a blaster could keep up with the R on any level

on a vigorous trail ride the blaster should keep up just fine..........in the wide open or on an mx track the R will shine.......................just be happy to be riding & don't worry about who is the fastest.

Like 4punksdad said, while trail riding you will keep up just fine. Your obviously not gonna keep up in an open field, but who cares. As long as you're having fun and riding does it really matter if you can blow past him when you hit the straight stretch.

hm.. id have to say the R would win, even tho i have a blaster and the only other quad id want besides a blaster would be a 250R. i raced an R before and got crushed i have a 250R big bore kit in my blaster and a racing pipe.. i didnt stand a chance lol. .. but the R was borded 40 over, so stock i dont kno. as far as my blaster against a 400ex. ILL KILL IT, I beat a 400 on it before... ...

I used to race a Blaster for about 4 years and it was completely aftermarket except for the frame. I had almost $10,000 into. I could beat 250Rs as long as the rider had no idea what he was doing. I ran against a stock 250R on a Supercross style track, that was VERY tight and I could give him a run (he was a very experienced rider). As far as everyday riding, if the guy on the 250R knows how to ride, say your prays and wear a good pair of goggles.

One of my riding buddies has a blaster that will run with a mostly stock R. We raced when my R had just a pipe and a bored carb. We ran even (but he had much better tires). Of course his blaster is very modded. It's got a milled head, very serious porting, pipe, 34mm carb, advanced timing, +5 swingarm, runs on race gas, etc. He can run right with raptors with it.
Of course it would make more sense to start out with a 250R and go from there instead of building the crap out of the blaster to run with stock bikes.

ur wrong man ^ raptor, if he has a 250cc big bore in his blaster piped.. it'll beat a 400ex. A stock blaster dopes about 60 and a stock 400ex does like estimate im not sure like 65 or 68.. a 250r stock will beat it yes.. but the blaster could beat that 400ex..

the 240 blaster will supposedly outrun a STOCk 250r wich is beleivable since the stock r is around 27-29 hp , some dynos of some 216 or some smaller big bore had around 25

I've heard claims of 40hp from blaster 240 kits from CT racing, etc. I believe a blaster can waste a stock 250r with enough work... but thats just it. If you have enough money you can pretty much make anything beat anything. The money you would need to put into your blaster to beat even a piped 250r would probably be more than it would to just sell the blaster and buy an R.
