1. i'd say not the first one, that thing was beat im pretty sure. im almost positive he blew the rear out if it has 4:10 gears and no tune or anything. if he was looking for performance he probably would have gotten a lot of stuff before the 4:10s

2. i never really liked the body styling of the 05-09s but thats just me

3. could be a good deal i'd just make sure you know why it has an R title. or just get the cheaper one and use the extra money for a kenne bell

4. i think this is the one i'd get. seems really clean and low miles

5. i like this one too. not sure why the description says it has cloth seats though

keep them coming. yall picked out my first pickup like this. yall chose a winner too. since i sold my race bike looking for a car. and yes a kenne bell was in mind.

while i like the styling of the 04s, the overall refinement went way up on the 05s.. not to mention more power. i definitely like the looks of the last one though.

yea everyone please look at the miles. resale value is a big deal here. i may have this car a week, may have it a year. there is no tellin.

however the whole auto vs manual deal, it doesnt really bother me. ill go either way.

to be honest i think i like option 4 more then 5. I will tint the windows. however i think i like the clean look more. and with 20k less miles, for sale by owner, seems like it would be an easier purchase. idk. keep them comin.

remember everyone, consider the price, miles, engine, interior, everything before voting.

im not a big fan of the 05's wheels but it really is the best car out of the 4. I would go with it or the black 04 with the rocker panel stripe.

the 99-04s are the best mustang body styles imo. Id either go with the orange 04 or the black one with the tan interior. i want a mustang so badly just cant afford it. im thinking about selling my quad to get a mustang. whatever you pick youll like so good luck and have fun.

03-30-2010, 12:29 PM
Dont get the orange because your not going to be able to compete. If you lived somewhere else I would say fine. 05 is the best out of the bunch but the stock wheels suck.

#5 for sure. Competition orange is just so sexy and it even has low miles. Plus there was only like 6xxx comp. oranges made in 04 so more than likely for every 100 mustangs you see a day, maybe 1 will be orange lol

Nooooo he cant get that because no matter what he does its going to suck. Theres only 1 comp orange to run the streets here. The others suck and should just get a different color because no one can equal up to him.

i'd say definately go with #4 unless #5 is incredibly cleaner. i'd say really stay away from #3 with that R title, im sure a lot of people who voted for that one didn't see the title and thought it seemed like a good deal. im not a big fan of the tan leather either i really like the black.

and #1 like i said probably was beat and it has a lot higher miles than number 4 and is more expensive. and idk if im too picky but when im looking at cars i pick out every little thing... he said he was financially unable to afford a tune so who knows what other kind of corners he cut because of lack of money. idk :ermm: just the way i tend to look at stuff.

another reason i'd go with #4 is because it looks mostly stock and was driven by an older guy (said he has a family of 5). i know that doesn't say a whole lot but i'd take a car driven by an adult over one driven by a teen anyday. the exhaust appears stock and he didn't even do the small stuff that people usually do right away (stubby antenna, black inserts for the "mustang" in the rear bumper...)

just make sure you check the carfax before you buy any of them.

i have no idea whats done to the car your talking about but i would never not get a car because someone in your town has a better one thats the same color. you can always add your own touch (black rims, stripes, etc...) and whats done to the car your talking about? supercharger? easy fix, just get one of these orange ones and twin turbo it

It is TT and it whoops on the streets. Its like SRT4, theres only 1 fast one and everyone elses is looked down upon. There are certain cars around that everyone gives props too and the others are eh because no one can compare.

Its just a different way of thinking I guess for a lot of car enthusiast. Being fastest in the state isnt that easy to achieve lol. Theres a lot of paint schemes and stuff that I would love to have but I wont do because someone already has it.

My truck is red so does that mean no one else can have a red truck??

The first one is a solid choice because although you would be paying more for it, there is no price for how well someone took care of it. (especially for resale). Don't go for the popular cool car, cause chances are the guy who bought it originally, used it to be cool and not for a long term car to proudly own. Not the mention the 40th anniversary makes it special, and black is a better resale color than orange. Easier to maintain as well. All make fun choices but the smarter choice might be #1

I'm a little confused as to why you quote my post and said what you said. Totally irrelevant. You see civics and eclipses driving around with primer black paint a blue door yellow body kit and red rims because they usually dont know anything about cars and they try to tastefully mod them but it ends up being a disaster when they shop at Advance Auto for modding their car and cant turn wrenches.

this is what im thinking. as far as aftermarket i think i would do the ones you listed, add the 2010 gt wheels, black out tails. keep it clean. then i was going to go internal, add some spray, maybe kenne bell. idk. it can get real nasty real quick.

but as far as the 05 with a lot of miles... its one of those things i would have to test drive. i think i could beat him up on the price. However my pickup is an 05 with 117k and its bulletproof. that 4.6 is unstoppable.

3v cars make very nice power very easily, and love boost.

2v cars respond pretty well to bolt ons, also love boost.

After owning both (06 GT, and an 03 GT) I say go with a 2v in whatever color you like, and use the money you would save towards mods.

...Unless you can afford to boost the 3v, if so :macho

Valves. The non-cobra 4.6's had 2 valve cylinder heads. The Cobra's had 4 valve cylinder heads.

I don't know anything about the 05's, but I think he's trying to say the 05+ 4.6's have 3 valve heads.

i believe the 05's and 06's were still 2 valves. or atleast in the trucks they were. better yet now that i think about it, they did change the mator in 05. they have 3 valves. more power, however i believe they are heavier.

id say the last one. This is my opinions on all of them:

1: WAY too expensive for that year with those miles.

2: its ok but the miles would turn me off

3: i couldnt get the link to work

4: low miles plus comp orange is RARE for a GT.

I had a 2001 GT and had a blast with it till I totaled it. They are fun cars and very dependable. I beat the hell out of mine and never gave me a problem

yes the 05+ mustang GT's have 3v's in them and the 99-04 have 2v PI heads, 94-98 had 2v non PI heads. The 3v's flow extremely well but as mentioned they are heavier than the 99-04's

when you really get to modding it you will want that auto back, they arent as fun to drive as the 5spd's but they can handle much more power than the manual trannys do.

yellowhonda400

04-05-2010, 10:20 AM
what year model? When you swap the 5spd make sure its a TR3650, they are the better tranny from the years through a 2004. You could just save up your money and do a T56 swap (which is what i would personally do after owning a 5spd) which is the 6 spd out of the 03/04 cobra's

yellowhonda400
04-05-2010, 11:06 AM
idk yet. i might buy a crashed mustang and use the tranny and all of the parts to make my ca a 5 speed. then i would part the rest out but im not sure yet what tranny to use. im gonna ask around and probably do the cheapest way as long as its save. ill get pics later lol

When it comes to GT's:
96-04 = 2v, 05+ 3v

96-98 = NPI

99-04 = PI

The 05+ cars are slightly heavier, but the added power makes up for more than the difference. I've seen low 13's out of stock 3v cars.

However, if you wanting cheap power it's hard to beat a 96-98 GT and bolting on a set of PI heads (Romeo factory preferably: 11 bolt valve covers, as the Windsor factory heads have issues blowing out spark plugs) with the PI cams (Or some XE262's if you want to go a little more aggressive) with a PI intake and with a good set of tires you can see low 13's. The PI heads have a slightly smaller combustion chamber than the stock NPI heads giving a slight bump in compression, as well as flowing better. The PI cams are slightly more aggressive as well as the PI intake flows better.

But if you're looking for a good newer model to cruise in a still make decent power it's hard to beat an 05+

a shift kit is pretty much different springs in the tranny, or thats how it was on my dakota. To save yourself the trouble, just get a SCT xcal2 or xcal3 (handheld tuner), whichever you can find and manually set your shift points and such yourself. Dont go too high as the motors drop off pretty good after 6000rpms. I had my redline on my 01 GT set at 6300 and id shift right at 6000. The xcal will also firm up your shifts and give you a nice little power gain

btw the reason I said take the wing off is because i never ran one on my car, took it off the 2nd day I had the car (R.I.P.)

another shot from the back before I put the shaved rear bumper and the v6 wingless trunk lid on:

IMO, I wouldnt waste money on the tranny swap. Use it for say 4.10 gears motor work/nitrous and a good sounding exhaust if it doesnt have one already.

it has a flow master already. i have an automatic car now and im tired of it i wanna have fun when im driving. I wanna get th tranny and have a nice fun car then have my other car for winter and all that. i dnt think im gonna do any motor work besides a cold air intake. other than that i wanna keep the car stock and just do lil thing for apperance.

That's cool. But a cold air isn't really worth the money. Buy gears instead!

Also factory rated 390 hp on terminators, but its usually more than that.

I had a 1994 mustang gt, went to an lt1 with a t56 and wont go back unless its a 03-04 cobra :)

I'd get an 05 or up!! They have so many different options on how you can mod them. With different body kits, hoods, superchargers, turbos... it's endless. I have an 07 with a gt500 conversion front end, cervini cowl hood, c/s rear bumper, etc. To much to list:p Plus there there the best looking mustangs imo:D

I have to agree. lol. That's a damn good price for a Cobra and it's decently low miles. That Cobra will slap your buddies EVO around all day Flew. :D Not to mention it sounds 10x better while doing it.

Yeah it is. I was supposed to get it turbo'd a few months back... but I ended up buying a house and had to put those plans on the back burner.... so hopefully by the end of summer I'll have some money saved up. My mortgage is slowing everything down!!:scary: lol
It gets up pretty good though. I haven't raced much, but did race a 96 GT and won!
