ltz50-how low is the stock rev limit?

Hey guys, I just bought a ltz-50 for my son, surely this thing isn't performing properly. It cuts out at a very low rpm but it sounds like a rev limiter at first. If you just bury the throttle, It completely bogs out. the machine idles perfectly. I'm thinking weak cdi? What is the stock main jet size? Maybe the carb has been tinkered with. Thanks in advance for any help.

It's an '06 ltz50 four stroke.

Nealrod,

There is nothing wrong with the bike... You have just run into the infamous limited LTZ 50 CDI.

The only way to get around this is to replace it with an aftermarket unit or a Factory LTZ90 CDI. (I did the factory LTZ90 CDI myself.)
