Skid Plates

I just ordered a full skid plate saet for my 07 400ex from Ricochet. I was jsut wondering if there is anything I can put in between the skid an the frame to keeep it from rubbing the paint from the frame. Any ideas?

well, my first idea for this would be to stand the bike up on its grab bar, and put a run of black electrical tape on the very bottom of the frame rail where the skid plate will mount. should work pretty good and not even be noticable.

or maybe 2 sided tape would work, that has a bit of cushion to it. steve

you could get that foam weather stripping with the one sticky side from a hardware store.

i use 2 sided tape and not only does it help keep the paint good but i will keep down any rattleing from the skids to the frame

Mounting tape, basically weatherstripping but it holds on better.
