Hey guys,

So we went riding this afternoon, and my buddy also on a 400ex, rolled into a huge mud hole, he was ok, but his bike wouldnt fire after we got it out, cleaned the plug, nothing in the airbox...we'll figure his out later.

We borrowed a tow strap and i pulled him back to our trucks using my quad. I just piped it and jetted it, seemed to run good until i towed him. Now it seems VERY lazy, makes virtually no power and hardly runs.

Any ideas? Could I have burned up the clutch? Overheated it and collapsed the rings?

Any ideas in the right direction would be great, i pulled the plug and the electrode was golden brown, looked great, like it was jetted correctly.

Just at a loss at whats wrong with my bike after towing his.....

Hey guys, maybe this will help somebody down the road...

I tore into the bike tonight and tore the top off the carb, found the spacer with a spring on it that goes from the throttle arm to the cup holding the needle ( sorry dont know all the names) had popped off. Its pretty simple to put back together and I can see where the spring sits on each arm to put it back together.

Once i put back together and fired it off, it runs great again.

Just a helpful heads up to check if you run into similar problems.
