I was just wondering if anyone has ever experienced rocks getting caught in their 4-1 wheels....reason I am asking, is I talked to Jason Dunkelberger last nite and he told me to get a +3 front end for my narrow frame and run offset wheels. He told me with the +4 and the 4-1 wheels that rocks get easily caught between the caliper and the wheel because they're inset so far.. any other opinions on this...??

stock rims on a 400ex are 4-1. I ride where there are rocks everywhere and they do get wedged between the caliper and the rim. Its not noticible when riding but when i clean my quad off i see rocks stuck and they put some scratches around the whole inside of the rim. Its not really a bigdeal. I have heard of a rock getting in there and actually locking up the wheel but its never happened to me.:D

Stock 400ex and 250r rims are +3+2. On the narrow laeger frames the pros run +4aarms with +4+1 rims. You could run +3 aarms with stock rims, but then whats the point of having the narrow frame?

Supposivly the narrow frame reduces bump steer. Some pros run the narrow and some run the wide. Tim Farr runs the wide.

I have heard all different things abt stock 400ex rims. some say 4:1 some say 3:2. I will measure if someone tells me the correct way to do it. BC you know the hole where the studs go through. That is abt 1/4 - 1/2 inch wide. Does that count for inside the rim or outside or do u just not count it?
