View Full Version : Does a 400ex vibrate more than other quads?

I have kind of gotten used to it now but my brother road my 400ex today and commented that he could feel a lot of vibration in the foot pegs and through the handlebars...when compared to his '87 Warrior. Does the 400ex just vibrate more than other quads or should I start looking for problems?

i have had both. the 400ex does vibrate more than a warrior. however, i dont think it was as bad on the 400ex as you made it sound.

worse case scenario is your counterbalancer is out of time or needs rebuilt. have you had bottom end work lately?

It vibrates a lot more than any other quad I've ridden

i have noticed that too but the yfz450s ive rode are way worse than my ex. a good set of comfortable bars, better shocks and good front tires helps alot and i make sure i have tie rod ends in the garage at all times so they dont get sloppy on me. i run 23 inche in the front and lots of rocks were im at. i have a ccp steering stabilizer on the way so that should help too.

like everybody else said, they do vibrate more than most, but just as a precaution, check all of your engine mounts to make sure they're tight.

I was riding again today and thinking that it would be really nice if I could get rid of the vibration I mentioned earlier in the year. When I installed the Sparks key is it possible that I threw something out of balance in the engine? Just a thought.

I never thought of the EX as having a vibration issue. You might have something wrong if it's bad enough you wish it wasn't there.

Perhaps a wheel is bent?

Thats odd, I get some really high revs out of mine and its smooth as can be, I dont get any vibration really.

mine will vibrate through the foot pegs after each rebuild but soon after break in goes away,I am on my 4th rebuild

wow why so many rebuilds togup? and after i installed the fcr carb i noticed i have more vibration in my handle bars and pegs, but that when its idleing and i rev it..figure cuz it just revs faster now:confused:
