good performance and great reliability?

Hi, just wondering what kind of things would help me get some more performance mostly in the bottom to mid range for trail riding and xc racing but with good reliability. i also dont want to do a huge amt. of maintenance all the time. what i already have is in my signature. i also dont want anything more than a few hundred. thanks

Cam,port the head,valves(custom) and stay with 11.1 or maybe 11.5-1 piston.Do not go crazy with the bore as the thinner the wall is the hotter the motor will run.Also add a oil cooler.

Basic top end upgrade,clutch and basket would not hurt anything either.

if you stay with the lower compression 11-1 you should still be reliable,nothing will be as solid as stock though.
