well i just got new brake pads at the dealer, and i came home and started to put it in, so i compressed the piston and the whole way down and then i couldnt get the park brake blockoff on because the little screw like thing was too far out. so thats one problem, the second thing is that when you put the brake pads on and put the screws through, then it wont go over the rotor, it is like 1/16 of an inch to small. so what do i do? do i grind the brake pad down just a little so it will fit over?

Take some wd-40 and spray the piston. Then take a large socket, use the old pad that’s up ageist the piston and put the socket on that and take a large pair of channel locks and push the piston down. When you put it back together it should just barley fit over the disk. Don’t grind the pads.
Honda part# 06435-HA5-671 (Nissin JPM27FF) should be 0.249 new. check and see if yours are the same.

this must be a problem with the newer 400's, I have been reading alot about brake not fitting good on these models. On my 01' I have never had a prob!

check to mmake sure the top of the brake pads are apart. I have had this happen. Also, once the piston is all the way in and pad installed in brake calbier use a swrew driver to help the keep the pads apart while installing over the dics..
